This wedding pavilion proposal is designed for a wine farm client outside Somerset West, and nestles in a grove of pine trees on a small koppie with 360 degree views. The plan form is geometrically pure; a square transparent space is enclosed within a circular floating carapace of lazer cut screens. The interior space is filled with a gentle dappled light that mimics its woodland environ. From the outside the hovering golden form can be read as a metaphor for a wedding band.
